about

She stands under October skies
On a certain day of the year
It don’t mean much to anyone else
It a secret hidden in her

He’s just a memory
A thought she revives once a year
She’s tried to explain to herself
But doesn’t want to end up in tears

Chorus
Under these darken skies
She softly says his name
Hoping the winds will
Take it to him
No matter where he is
And find him in no pain

It’s never nothing special
That makes her think of him
Maybe it his kindness
His smile, it don’t matter to her in the end
She married that man she loves
They’ve been thick and thin
She couldn’t see her with anyone else
Until October winds blow one in

Chorus

Bridge
The secrets in a woman’s heart
Are deep and they are never understood
She wishes she could figure out
Why he’s, why he is important to her

As she goes to the front door
She pauses one last time
He wasn’t they one that got away
But the one that felt most like home

She says goodbye to October skies
I will see you again next year
And if you find him, brush his cheek
So he knows I think of him

Under these dark skies
I softly say his name
I pray that the winds will
Take me to him
No matter where he is
And I find him in no pain

Under these dark, dark skies
She softly says my name
I’m hoping the winds will
Bring to me
No matter where I am
And help me with my pain
